The theme for the 2026 Scottish Sessions is "Pinewoods Ghost Story"! π» π» π»
Set amongst the towering pines of historic Plymouth, Massachusetts, Pinewoods Camp has been a beloved gathering place for traditional music and dance since 1933. Within a beautiful 25-acre pine and beech forest between Long Pond and Round Pond, the camp features four spacious open-air dance pavilions, rustic cabins and houses, two crystal-clear lakes for swimming and boating, an open-sided dining hall overlooking the water, and a camp house for gatherings and music sessions. For the next two weeks, the camp comes alive with Scottish Country Dancing as dancers and musicians travel from near and far to enjoy this unique woodland setting. Bring the mosquito repellent!
"Pinewoods Reel" is an exhilarating tribute reel devised by John Bowie Dickson for 3 couples in a four couple set that celebrates this special place with lively double triangles and traveling petronellas, capturing the energy, camaraderie, and joy that have made Pinewoods one of the world's most treasured dance camps.

The Pinewoods Camp is the location of a week long Scottish Country Dance workshop in the woods of Plymouth, Massachusetts.
From the website:
"People return from Pinewoods with memories: Grand marches wending through the woods at sunset, a world-class fiddler practicing on the porch of her cabin as you pass by, the 31-inch snapping turtle we found living under Long Pond dock. From the moment you're woken by the sound of pipes drifting through the sentinel pines to the time you follow the glow of your flashlight down the path to your cabin, every day at Pinewoods offers a wealth of stories you won't find anywhere else."
Located between Long Pond and Round Pond, both ponds are available for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and the occasional aquatic strathspey. Classes and evening dances are held in open-sided pavilions with sprung wooden floors."
