Ship in Full Sail
The Caledonian Steam Packet Company was founded in 1889.
Formed to complement the services of the Caledonian Railway, the Caledonian Steam Packet Company provided a scheduled shipping service, carrying freight and passengers, on the west coast of Scotland.
Many of the ships operated by the company were named the novels and poems of Sir Walter Scott - Meg Merrilees, Madge Wildfire, Ivanhoe, Jeanie Deans, and Waverly.
